SLEEP TESTING
The right test can
bring clarity.
Testing is selected based on your symptoms, medical history, and clinical needs. Not everyone needs the same study.
HOME SLEEP TEST
Sleep apnea testing from home
A home sleep test can be a convenient option for adults with a clinical suspicion of uncomplicated obstructive sleep apnea. The device records physiologic signals during sleep and is interpreted by a qualified clinician.
Home testing is not appropriate for every patient. A consultation helps determine whether it is the right option.
What to expect
- Discuss your symptoms and health history.
- Receive the recommended test and instructions.
- Complete the study at home when appropriate.
- Review results and discuss next steps.
IN-LAB SLEEP STUDY
More comprehensive overnight testing
Polysomnography records multiple physiologic signals during sleep and may be recommended when home testing is not appropriate, when another sleep disorder is suspected, or when more detailed evaluation is needed.
Brain waves, breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm, movement, and other signals can be evaluated.
In selected situations, a daytime nap study may be used after an overnight study.
